So, what is a zine anyway?
Zines are collaborative magazines (hence the name zine) consisting of art and writing! They are often seen in the fandom space, but this zine in particular is OC-centric, which means that all content will be original and based around an artist's original characters. This zine will also be primarily based around illustration and comic.What charity will this zine be benefitting?
We currently have several potential charities in mind. Contributors, upon being accepted, will be invited to vote upon which charity they would like the zine to benefit.What is the theme of this zine?
The theme of this zine is Missing Moments. We are looking for the untold scenes of your original story and characters! This is a rather broad range--it can be anything from an important but ultimately underdeveloped aspect of your plot to a completely irrelevant beach episode formatted into the style of a storybook. For more information, please refer to the info-doc.Are there any requirements for joining the zine?
Applicants must be at least 16 years old at the time of application.
No prior zine experience is needed! Just put your best foot forward, and love your OCs a lot!Are fanworks/fan OCs allowed?
We recommend that you stray away from using fan OCs, but we understand that some characters are inspired off of pre-existing settings.
Fan OCs (or OCs derived from an existing media) must be sufficiently derivative from the source material to be considered. For more information on this, please check our info-doc. You may not create fanart or fanfiction for the zine, though you can include it in your application portfolio.How will contributors be compensated?
All contributors will receive a free copy of the artbook along with any additional materials if our funding goal is met. If the goal is not met, contributors will be given the opportunity to purchase a copy of the zine at production value. All contributors will receive a copy of the digital artbook and any additional digital rewards for free.How will this zine look aesthetically?
We're aiming to push into a fairytale/storybook look.What sort of restrictions will be placed on content?
This zine is safe for work. No NSFW or extreme gore will be permitted in the zine, though some content may still be rated at 16+ (details will be addressed during the pitch stage). The usage of generative AI is not permitted at any stage of development.Is this zine going physical?
We are aiming for a physical release, though it will be dependent on interest! A further interest check with details on physical release will be launched further into the project.I have a question that wasn't answered!
